What is Veestro?
Veestro is a plant-based, organic prepared meal delivery service where the items are pre-portioned and frozen. They arrive with dry ice so you don’t have to worry about them defrosting in transit.
Once received, the meals can be stored in the freezer for up to two months (they are preservative-free, which limits the shelf life slightly). All you need to do is heat up the tray according to the package directions when you’re ready to eat!
Most of the meals have a quick microwave option, while others have stove-top or oven instructions. But there is no cooking needed!
The frozen meals can be ordered a la carte in boxes of your choice of 10, 20 or 30 meals, or you can subscribe to one of their auto-delivery plans with Chef’s Choice meals or specifically for weight loss.
A la carte options allow you to stock up and just order once, until you need more. You can customize your box with whichever meals you choose from their current offerings.
Chef’s Choice meals gives you the choice of gluten-free, high-protein, or customer favorites entrees. While you don’t choose specific entrees with this plan, you still can choose if you want to receive 10, 20 or 30 meals and then you choose you delivery frequency – every week, every two weeks, or every month.
With the Weight Loss plan you choose if you want either a pre-planned 5 day meal plan or 7 day meal plan (3 meals per day) which is delivered every week, or until you pause or cancel. You can also choose to make your meals gluten-free.
How Big Are the Portion Sizes?
Veestro Meal Sampling
- Tuscan Calzone
- This calzone was a perfect size for a lunch. The only heating instructions were in an oven for about 20 minutes, and it came with a packet of red sauce (I didn’t use it all in the photo). Loved the flavor!

- Breakfast Burrito
- I love that the breakfast burrito came with a side of potatoes as well! Since mornings are usually busier, I used the microwave option for this meal and enjoyed it.

- Country Fried Chik’n
- This one was probably my least favorite of the 6 I tried, but I’m not usually a fan of fake chicken. The portion seemed especially small for my tastes, though I could see this making a great “chicken” and waffles meal!

- The enchilada was another smaller portion meal, and I supplemented it with some of my favorite corn dip and chips. It tasted good, I just wanted more!

- Red Curry
- I added some extra corn to my red curry which helped make it my most filling dinner, and I actually saved some of the leftovers for the next day. Great flavors, and probably my favorite as it wasn’t so “obviously vegan.”

Review Summary of Veestro
Overall, Veestro is a great service if you want to stock up on frozen dinners for those nights that are too busy to plan ahead. This is a wonderful option for one person, or even a couple that don’t want to worry about cooking every night.
Last I checked they had 43 different meal options in their a la carte plan, so the variety is great! I love that they have so many meatless options and also options for those with other dietary restrictions or preferences, like nut-free, soy-free or gluten-free.
A couple of the portion sizes were a little small for me, but choosing from these many options allows you this trial and error to find your favorites.
It’s rare to find organic and preservative-free freezer options that are vegan, and in this way Veestro knocks it out of the park. The more meals you order in a la carte, the larger the discount. While they won’t last forever in the freezer (up to a couple months, according to their website), it’s perfect to keep on hand for upcoming busy weeks.
And when you find your favorites, you can keep ordering those as staples! No need to worry about choosing meals every week or making sure to skip when you’re out of town, since these can be ordered a la carte in boxes of 10, 20, or 30 meals. If you do prefer the auto-ship, the Chef’s Choice and Weight Loss programs programs could be right for you.
