About Trial and Eater
I’m Kelly and I’d like to welcome you to my vegetarian food blog! This site is documenting my journey of learning to cook beyond the basics, making it easier to approach a meatless lifestyle in the kitchen and while on the road. At trialandeater.com you’ll find unique and easy approaches to vegetarian cooking, using products without added dyes or unnecessary preservatives, as well as my favorite vegetarian snacks and finds.
Growing up I much preferred baking, and I was not much of a cook. When I graduated college, I had a hard time cooking for just myself and inspiring myself to try new recipes. I didn’t know the first thing about cooking! My mother, being the creative cook of the family, would always say “It’s just trial and error.” So, that’s how Trial and Eater was eventually born.
More About the Author
I have a background in accounting and finance, and used to work as an analyst and actuary at health insurance companies and even a large tech company. I left the corporate world in 2015 to complete Duke Integrative Medicine’s Integrative Health Coach Professional training and make healthy living (and eating) my career, in addition to working on this site and photography. I also have a graduate certificate in Public Health Concepts from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I’m now a certified functional diagnostic nutrition practitioner (FDN-P) at Health by the Numbers.
