About Trial and Eater
I’m Kelly and I’d like to welcome you to my vegetarian food blog! This site is documenting my journey of learning to cook, in hopes that it also helps inspire you to try something new and possibly make it a little less intimidating for you to get in the kitchen. You’ll find mostly healthy (and sometimes decadent) vegetarian recipes as well as tips and tricks I learn along the way.
Growing up I much preferred baking (particularly cookies), my left-brain enjoying the fact that if I measured correctly and followed instructions it would turn out as planned. On the other hand, my right-brained mom always preferred creative cooking and hates following instructions (i.e. recipes). While that can drive me crazy I still admire her for being able to throw seemingly random ingredients and spices together to make something that tastes good. She would always say “It’s just trial and error.” So, that’s how Trial and Eater was eventually born.
I have a background in accounting and finance, and used to work as an analyst and actuary at health insurance companies and even a large tech company. I left the corporate world in 2015 to complete Duke Integrative Medicine’s Integrative Health Coach Professional training and make health living (and eating) my career, in addition to working on this site and photography. If you want to find out more about Integrative Health Coaching or find out how we can work together, you can also find me at Sheamana.com.
